Abstract
The development of specialization in human services by various segments of the secular health systems in this country has led to fragmentation, lack of comprehensiveness, dehumanization and inefficiency in the delivery of such key services as those in health and mental health. The church, itself divided and fragmented by denominationalism and factionalism, has lost its initiating role in the healing of persons. Part of this is a fail to approach the problems systematically. There is a need for creative action and thinking in the area of the church's role in relation to human services at the local, regional and national levels.
